So, it's late and I'm too tired to be witty.
I'm crocheting again, not sure if that's a good thing or a bad thing.
But what I do know for sure is that, when I'm done, I'll have the coolest grandfather clock on the block.

Thanks to a book by Anne Halliday "Decorating With Crochet" published in the 1970's, I have become inspired to clutter my walls with this awesome crochet clock.

Had to teach myself jacquard (tapestry) crochet which, apparently, is crocheting by looking at a chart/image instead of reading a pattern and requires the use of many, many, many color changes... It's been fun... and tedious... so far.

I have the clock base done. That's about a quarter of the way through. Wooot! I gotta say that making this has turned out to be the best decision I've ever made... Clockwise. Bahahaha.

Due to the fact that I am hopelessly single, done with school and completely unemployed, I have a lot of time on my hands. After getting my beloved coffee in the morning, most of this free time is spent watching TV with bff Chandara or making messes in my house while creating crafty masterpieces.

Ever since Stephanie taught me how to crochet, I have become a crazy hooker. (Yes, thats right, hooker.) Trying new patterns, making everyone yarny Christmas presents and searching the internet for fun craft blogs has now become a daily occurance. Maybe I need to get out more... Maybe I shoud get some friends or venture outside and feel the sunlight OR maybe I should let Stephanie convince me to take on a project that is sure to consume every one of my nights for the next month. "What is this project," you ask? An afghan. The plan is that we both make our own afghan and comisetrate with eachother as we're working by sending eachother updated pictures of our progression. Or, to put into words what you're all already thinking, we're finding out who has less of a social life. So with that said, I introduce you all to "Granny Hip!" (not to be confused with what your what your grandmother broke when she slipped in the kitchen last year.)

Obviously Granny Hip's name suits her well. Although she is four sided, she aint no square. She's not a typical granny square blanket, her pattern pretty much rocks my socks off and just look at those colors! Could she be any cooler? No. If one was to compare Granny Hip to a real grandma she would be Mrs. Doubtfire. (Yes, I realize she's not a real grandma but, she... er, he is pretty with it/awesome.)

Ya know, dear reader, Although it is truly a burden to take time out of my busy life of taking cat-naps and watching This Is Spinal Tap to update you on the fantasticalness that is Ailis; I have decided that I will do it because I care and because I appreciate your loyalty... And your ability to read!

Inspired by this bloggity-blog, I headed, all gung-ho, with my four dollars, to my local Salvation army... Or was it GoodWill? (Links included just in case you're feeling thrifty... Or donatingly generous!) to purchase a couple of XL men's t-shirts.

It only took me a week and a half and a lil bit of crafting pressure to go pick the t-shirts up off of my bedroom floor, pull out my self-healing mat, my rotary cutter and get to work...
Please ignore my creeper face in that shot but I really like the necklace's outcome! Wonder if I could get my Mom and Margie to sell some in their store? I'd wear them, wonder if other people would... The next one I make is going to have some cool wooden beads or something on it but I'll have to venture back to the thrift store another time to purchase more t-shirts because I refuse to cut up the blue shirt that I bought (I'm wearing it right now!) I've become quite fond of the little "Plaque Buster" tooth logo and the "If you got 'em floss 'em" quote that was obviously thought up by some witty dentist while repeatedly watching The Producers... Or maybe during an all night, brain-storming Orthodontist Association meeting.

So, yesterday I found out that my demo reel has been playing on the TVs at school. This usually is to be expected because every quarter the previous graduating student's reels are displayed. But since there were only five animation students that graduated last quarter, the school decided to create a new "Best of AI Demo Reels... Reel!" And mine is on there! (The only graduating student from last quarter to make the cut!!!) So they think mine is great! Which I think is great! ...Great!

Aaaand with that little introduction, in case you haven't seen it before, here it is!

Now I only need to get someone to hire me!

What else has been going on lately?

A couple weekends ago I went up to Coloma, California (where gold was discovered... In California) to help my mom and Margie Sanborn (wedding planner extraordinaires!) set up for a wedding that took place at The Coloma Country Inn a beautiful Bed and Breakfast that Margie owns.

Being the huge production that it was, we divvied up the jobs that needed to be done and got to work. Aside from reupholstering 34 chairs, weeding the garden and helping my mom and Margie with their jobs; I was designated Table Number creator. For this, I cut out colorful tags and numbers glued them together and hung them, with beautiful ribbon, from different sized old milk bottles that Margie had. The butterflies were purchased by the bride and dropped off at the inn and since we weren't sure what to do with them I super-glued them onto the bottles!

I'm gonna brag a bit and say that I think they turned out pretty nice! The ultimate compliment came at the end of the night when wedding guests didn't want the flower arrangements off of their tables, they wanted the table numbers! Some were even stolen!

My First Blog... How Artsy Is This Gonna Be?

So a few weeks ago, while flying up to Sacramento, I met a woman on an airplane who suggested I start a blog to inform the world of my talents/current projects. As a romance novelist and avid blogger, she spoke non-stop of the amazingness that is a blog and how anyone who is anyone blogs. So here I am...

Blog number one.

Since graduating from The Art Institute of California Orange County, I have become one lazy gal. I've been doing projects here and there and a few freelance things but I really need to find a job...

So if you are in need of some animation, don't hesitate to ask!

Last weekend was my brother's fiancee Tiffany's bachelorette party/bridal shower and I let the creative juices flow... Or at least my crafty juices...

These are the bikini cookies that Tiffany's sister Candyce suggested I make for the bridal shower. I made them using a heart chaped cookie cutter. Chandara and Natalie came over and helped frost. Aren't they amazing?

At the Pool party part of the bachelorette day all guests were instructed to make something tacky and hawaiian themed for Tiff to wear while on her honeymoon. I made her a hat (glasses not part of it):
